Still Experienced interprets some songs with Jimi Hendrix in mind which he could have performed or possibly even already tried (Steve Winwood, Janis Joplin, Procol Harum etc.)

Before Jimi Hendrix's death numerous deliberations were made about future projects which went in the direction of Jazz, Jazz/Rock and R&B. Even Miles Davies had a concret collaboration in mind, furthermore was Gil Evans a great admirer of Jimi Hendrix Music. He already had composed some arrangements for Big Bands of some of his tracks. Unfortunately Hendrix died 3 days before the first rehearsal.

Chris Haller and Peter Guschelbauer met up in the summer of 1998 to share a cosy drink and descided there and then to reform "their band". A small rehearsal immediately showed that the feel for Hendrix's music was even stronger than before.

With Didi Donauer a brilliant drummer was signed up who was only 21 at the time but still had integrated the "Ginger Baker/Mitch Mitchel feeling" of the 60´s. The Still Experienced was thus perfekt. Their first public appearance took place on the 18th of September in 1998 in Adi Nimmerfall's Smaragd, which was the 28th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's death. The first CD with 15 of Jimi Hendrix's tracks was presented in May 29th 1999 at Franz Wagner's Cafe Landgraf.
